Shannen Doherty embraced her ailing father in an emotional moment after her second week jive routine on ‘Dancing with the Stars.”
The touching moment came after Doherty had performed a high energy jive with her partner Mark Ballas which helped them earn 20 points from the judges, two higer than last week.
The camera had flashed to her ill father during the routine and the bearded Mr. Doherty seemed deeply moved by his daughter’s performance. He suffered a major stroke recently.
Doherty seemed poised throughout dressed as a high school girl with school tie and dark skirt. Judge Len Goodman who gave them the lowest scores thought she had lost control of the dance on a few occasions, but they finished a solid routine toloud applause from the crowd.
The positive judge’s reaction and the wild applause from the crowd should guarantee the couple make it through to the next round

“Dancing with the Stars” contestant Shannen Doherty visits Ireland on a regular basis.
The actress was in Ireland last November with her boyfriend, photographer Kurt Iswarienkio, and told the Irish media she loves the country of her ancestors very much.
Doherty appeared on the Late Late Show, Ireland’s longest running talk show, in November where she spoke about her love of her Irish heritage and her life as an actress.
She told host, Ryan Tubridy, that she had a great time visiting Ireland and really loved Dublin.
“There’s a really great buzz around the city, it’s contagious,” she said.
Doherty was happy and easy going when Ryan poked fun at her for her role as Irish American spoilt kid, Brenda Walsh, on the 90’s drama, “90210.”
Doherty said they were some of the best days of her life, playing Brenda, and although she didn’t have the same luxurious upbringing as her character, Doherty said at the time she could relate to the issues (especially with boys) Brenda was experiencing.
Doherty will compete to stay on the “Dancing with the Stars” show this coming Monday.

Actress Shannen Doherty had an objective: to give her elderly father a reason to fight to live. On Dancing with The Stars, Shannon and her partner Mark Ballas may not have danced the most perfect Viennese Waltz, but it was romantically done and they wowed audience before her father, who had a massive stroke.
But her father was excited to see her do it and promised to go through physical therapy if she danced.
Even with a rather harsh critique by the judge Bruno, and an overall score of 18, they emerged as the crowd favorite.
